Garry Schmidt possess a deep vocational passion that premeates his entire life and work. The expression “Mensch” lept to mind when I was asked to share a witness. It is Yiddish it means “A Man,” and is a compliment, expressing the “rarity and value of that individual’s qualities.” The first time I met Garry I felt the moment of kindred souls recognizing one another, unspoken. The foundation of Garry’s myriad of skills is the wisdom that comes from journey of the souls’ dark nights. He exudes the welcome of grace, “a warm embrace.”
